Understanding Being a Mother

‘Mother knows best’ can be a myth and too often taken in the wrong context especially by our very own children.   She is just like any normal human being subject to imperfections due to erroneous zones.  What more, too often with the kids involved or events happened that cause the loopholes here and there.  But these are situations where we can grow as parents.  No disrespect to our kids, we can learn from them and it is so humbling if we are open.   Then we certainly would enjoy life with them.   Sharing or bonding time with our love ones is a source of practical rythmic evolution amidst the fear of the present cyber world.

GROW IN GRACE AND CHARACTER

Love this motto since I was seven years old.   The adage, ‘to grow in grace and character’ puts me in the right perspective all the time and keep me grounded all these years.   I like the attitude of being in touch within and the kind of person who is always striving and moving whether at home, at work or at play.   Upward, downward or at a standstill, it gives me motivation to perfect myself in this age of cosmopolitan world.  Having a positive spirit and aura, I believe  I emulate the good in others as well vice versa.  Even if it can be a struggle sometimes, this is what makes my life like a jigzaw puzzle, whereby I try to work on the bits and pieces no matter how tricky or hard it may seem to be.

The impact of book launching

Book launch is supposed to get the hype in lieu of a new volume edition in order to catch the attention of the social media. It is supposed to bring awareness to anyone who may see the personal relevance of the book in their lives.  Or maybe grasp the difference between an autobiography and a mere run of the mill type of book that adds to the growing number of great book of our times.    The impact then will entice them to buy the book and hunger to know what it is all about.

But it all depends on the aspect of marketability.   How you have reached to as many people inviting them to attend this event can make an outstanding positive outcome of the gathering.   It pays to know a lot of people and how they have impacted your personhood in their day to day living enough to give in  to your invitation.

When you need a shoulder to cry on?

You are down to the brim and ready to explode.   Stress, too much work and been up lately unable to sleep.   What is the thing that is bugging you?   Is there some sort of restlessness around you?   Why do people cant seem to be at your pace and reach out?   You seemed to be alone in the world of your own.   What are your fears or the cause of your anxiety?   Is there a need to be silent within and listen to the voice inside you telling you to slow down.   Reach out if need be but how can you when you are the one who needs reaching out.  You might need to unload sometimes.   There is a heaviness in your heart.   When your very own kin are the ones who put you down or is it your expectations that arent met that makes you feel frustrated.   Keep up the spirit.   Live one day at a time.   Make the most thinking it might be your last.  And most of all count your blessings always!  That will make you feel good despite the odds.

The Art of Mortifying

Nowadays we are curious about everything.   If we can try all apps we will do it not just in our mobile phones but in all our gadgets or pretty much in everyday living.   It is not just the art of learning something.   It has a negative impact also if we keep indulging ourselves of most if not all the things we want to get, see or have in our lives.    We have to open our eyes or have this mindset that not all things are good for us especially for our spirits.  So learn the art of mortifying the senses.    Have a little sense of waiting or discarding what is non essential.    All things come and go.   We must learn to see the difference of what can bring essence into our daily lives especially in this cyber world.

Happy holidays!

HOW BIZARRE THIS BLACK FRIDAY IN USA

I cant believe the hype all because of shopping.    The idea of wanting more and getting something beyond your means.    Gosh, I thought the UK mob riots was the worst ever that happened this year!   Some people died, innocent people getting hurt, lots of looting happened and chains of stores were heavily damaged/bankrupt. But in USA, a day after Thanksgiving the whole shopping scenario became a nightmare; all because of the hype of getting what you want.   What a message!    People getting greedier and materialistic in the name of absurdity and animalistic behavior!

The Pacman Phenomenon

Manny Pacquiao better known as “Pacman” is getting to be so popular not only in the sports boxing arena but anywhere across the universe.   He is selected as one of the candidates for TIME Person of Year 2011. He brings magic in his career whether in politics or boxing.  He is being idolized not just by prisoners in the Philippines but he is someone being looked up to especially in this modern times.   We need authenticity in the aspect of role modelling.  Does he in any way exemplify as one of the heroes of our times?    Some find him down to earth, unassumming, cheerful and generous to the hilt.

What could be his magic?  Maybe that is what you macallit the aura of mystery that everyone savours for now.

SOMETHING FOOLISH -TO SPIKE DRINKS

So is this another new genre endangering lives of our innocent youth today- to spike someone? This could definitely damage the brain and worse could kill someone else! A new climate of fear has succumbed into my core being as I saw how helpless my naive 19 year old son was. He who do not smoke nor do recreational drugs but only go out social drinking was duped. Yes, he was spiked and his drinks had ecstacy which nearly killed him. Oh that scary night! He was not in his self after being told by the medical doctor: ‘at the moment his life is not yet threatening, but we do not know what’s gonna happen in the next hours.’ ‘Meantime we would do our best to help him so he has to stay in the hospital…’ How can you relate to that?
Thanks to the doctors and nurses who took care of him at the St Mary’s Hospital.  Now, he’s back to his normal state.  The challenge is on to be strong and be on vigilant with the cruelty invading the future lives of our children!

Everything in moderation

I’d like to think that in a wink of an eye i can say no to things that are trivial in my life. I set aside non essential stuff and focus only on positive and good vibes. It simply means being good.   It is truly well to live this mantra of moderation in everything whether eating, working, having fun or doing anything under the sun.
